At one time or another just about every member of my family has tied a bow,cut a rose stem, went in the back door of a funeral home or handed some giddy 40 year old valetines roses.  Some of my best memories as a childhood were spent there with my family. I feel kinda lucky to have been  some small part of it and the community of friends and family that have grown around it.

Finding the Past

Sorry I haven’t written much on the blog in the last few months. With the baby, work and home improvements, I just haven’t made the time to reach out. I just received and email for a guy named Jeff Abner, who I was a friend with briefly while I was in the AF stationed in England. Like all of us, he got the bug to explore his past and what better place than the Internet. Probably in a matter of 5-10 minute Jeff entered in key woods like Air Force, Bentwaters, and Woodbridge. He may have even remembered my name. This quick query found my Blog. Jeff was lucky enough to have had a picture of me. With a little comparison, between that and some of the more cheerful pictures on the Blog he sent me an email to confirm. Great Stuff

The house we put a bid on Tuesday turned out to be a big disappointment when we lost the bid. This is the second house that we have lost. Andrea is always disappointed. I think I have gotten used to it. After the first house you bid on and lose, you just begin to expect it.

We looked at another round of houses today. Nothing really jumped out at us. We are in a looking lull at the moment. Trying to recover from the loss. We are getting better at figuring out what we want.

Andrea had a surprise shower that my coworkers through her. It was a nice little affair in the park. Good Eats for a beautiful day.

We went to a candle light tour of the Navy yard. The tour was slow but it was nice to be on the base and find out more about it. The Navy museum was cool. I think my father might have liked it.

We went to a Chinese fireworks demo afterwards.  Great display of fireworks

Saturday Night

Our Company picnic was yesterday afternoon. Instead of the same ole BBQ party like we always have the opted to take us an Oriels game. What a good. Choice. We sat in an area called the bullpen for a while overlooking the pitchers warm-up area.  There was BBQ and hotdogs with load of condiments not to mention free beer and condiments. After we finished eating we road the escalator to the top deck and watched the game. Nothing special there, the O’s performed poorly against the Red Soxs. We left early to beat the traffic and spent the remaining part of the night resting quietly. 

Update

Sorry I haven’t updated this page lately but I have been somewhat busy. The DNEPR has finally made it to Washington DC thanks to the efforts of my friend Tony Berarducci . He helped me transport it to DC. None of this would be possible without the help of my Uncle Mike who has always been a great resource for fixing my vehicles. I am in the process of applying for a VIN number and a Title. No one at the DC DMV has a clue about the process for this but they all seem to reassure me that it can be done. Wish me luck.

I had to serve on jury duty this week. Although I was never called I sat there with nearly 500 other people waiting to serve or go home. Luckily they let us out a little early.

We are house hunting, which is fun and depressing all at the same time. I never new you could spend 400,000 dollars on a home that didn’t have central air. Our realtor Mansour Abu-Rahmeh drives us around in his SAAB convertible with the top down and the air condition pumping. It is decadent but I would do it to.

Today we are going to our corporate picnic party. The bought us a block of ticket to the Oriels game against the Boston Red Sox’s. Food is included and we get to hang out in the bullpen. Should be exciting and defiantly is free.

Google Gone

After wainting for months and months of hosting what I thought was going to be a good way to pay for my website expense I was canned. Google Adsense that I have displayed proudly on my site since it's begining will now go away. I was 7 dollars away from cashing out. I feel like a a person who's retirement was pulled away a week before I retired.  This sucks.
