Well, we're into the 34th week. The baby is definitely running out of room. I think "it" is sticking it's little foot out as hard as it can, pushing against my left ribs. So, I just try to stretch out to give it more room. Lots of squirming is involved. Did you know that by the 34th week the baby has its own immune system. It's preparing to be out on its own--just in case it comes early. And, it has all 5 senses, now. If it has an itch, it can scratch! Fingernails have been there a couple of weeks. I found out today that I'll get to go in for one more ultrasound in a few weeks (I only have a few weeks left!). That way they can check the amniotic fluid and tell better whether it might come a little early or a little late.
We've got our child birth classes this weekend. Chris told everyone this weekend that he doesn't know if he'll be in the room during the birth. All the women around just about jumped him. He said that's how he's seen it on TV (in the 50's maybe!)--you know, where the dad is out in the waiting room, and they come out with a beautifully clean, swaddled baby to place in his arms. We'll see about that. I think we'll both know more after the weekend. We have child care classes on Thursday night, a crash course in the birthing on Saturday & Sunday, and finish with breastfeeding class next Tuesday. Fun! Fun!
