Spelinking

I sent a short email to one of the designers that created the mappr.com project. In my email I coined a word that describes my exploration of the internet through randomly clicking links. The word was spelinking, which is a derivative of spelunking.

For those of you who don’t know spelunking, the definition can be found at www.dictionary.com.

spe·lunk·er    n.

One who explores caves chiefly as a hobby; a caver.

spe·link·er     n.

One who explores web links chiefly as a hobby.

I think I am going to start using it to describe how I find the random sights I look at.
